New Year’s Eve is a magical time and everyone wants to experience this evening in the best way possible. In the Netherlands there is a tradition that at midnight everyone goes outside to see the fireworks. Wondering where to go? We prepared a list of our favorite local spots to watch the fireworks in Rotterdam! Here is our top three.
Erasmus Bridge
Located in the heart of Rotterdam, the 800-meter-long Erasmus Bridge is the most popular place to watch fireworks in Rotterdam. You can see the city center with beautiful, colorful fireworks and all Rotterdammers gathered together to observe this view.
Hoek van Holland
Magical, extensive beach with wild nature. Visit it during New Year’s Eve and see a one-of-a-kind fireworks show! The beach is huge, so there is plenty of space for everyone. There won’t be such crowds as next to the Erasmus Bridge so it’s a good option for those who prefer a more cozy vibe.
Nesselande
Nesselande has a smaller beach than Hoek Van Holland but is easily accessible with a metro. It’s a combination of city vibe and nature. Out-of-the-box but a great place to start a New Year!
