What is the monthly fee?
The monthly fee depends on the type of property (room, studio, or apartment) and the location.

What are rent benefits?
Rent benefits (in Dutch: Huurtoeslag) are allowances granted by the Dutch tax authorities to low income individuals which are a government contribution towards their living expenses. Read more about rent benefits in our blog post.

What is included in the monthly fee?
At the Citylifer, we offer a plug-and-play lifestyle! So all ehousing-related expenses are included in the monthly fee: apartment rent, service costs, furniture, shared areas, utilities, wifi and community events. No hassle, no stress!

Is a security deposit required?
Yes, The Citylifer requires a security deposit. The amount is based on your annual salary and typically ranges between one and two months’ rent.

At The Citylifer, we only accept payment through bank transfers.

Can I sublet my apartment to someone else?
Each subletting request at The Citylifer is carefully evaluated and considered individually. Please reach out to our team to discuss your subletting options.

How do I book an apartment?
To book an apartment, visit our Find Your Home page to check availability and pricing. From there, you can schedule a viewing or apply directly through our onboarding portal.

Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Yes for our short-stay apartments the minimum stay is 1 month, for our long-stay apartments this is 12 months.

At The Citylifer, we provide a range of amenities to make your life easier! Amenities may vary by location, but our most commonly provided amenities include:

The cleaning of the communal and shared areas is included. Cleaning your private space is offered against a surcharge.

What types of events are organized for the residents
At The Citylifer, we co-organize different events for and together with our residents to promote community building and make our residents happier. Events are tailored to the needs of the residents in a specific location but can include social gatherings, educational workshops or sports activities.

What is the community like?
At The Citylifer, most residents are between 25 and 35 years old from different walks of life, such as entrepreneurs, young professionals and digital nomads. Our residents want to be part of a community and are open to meeting new people.

How are conflicts or issues between residents handled?
A safe and inclusive environment is highly important at The Citylifer, so conflicts are handled very seriously. We have community managers on-site that help resolve any conflicts or issues. In case of serious conflicts, we will work on finding a resolution that is fair and equitable.

Can I meet other residents before moving in?
Yes, we organize events where you can meet residents that are already living at The Citylifer to ask questions you may have. Our team can also help you connecting with residents. We understand how intimidating moving to a new place can feel. Our team and residents will try their best to make sure that you feel comfortable about joining The Citylifer.
Rules and regulations

What are the rules for living at The Citylifer?
We’ve established a set of rules to make sure residents feel comfortable and at home in our buildings. Respecting the privacy of other residents is paramount. Also keeping the shared areas clean and being mindful of noise levels during the evening and night are key to a comfortable living environment. On top of these general rules, there can be specific guidelines dependent on the building and location.

What happens if I break a rule?
At the Citylifer, we have faith in the integrity of our residents. As such, if someone breaks a rule, we will reach out to the respective resident(s), explain the reasoning behind the rules, and kindly request to adhere to the regulations. However, repeated or severe violations can lead to an official warning and ultimately to termination of the tenancy agreement. Following the rules is important to maintain a safe, pleasant living environment for everyone.

Is there a curfew or quiet hours?
Yes, every The Citylifer building has quiet hours, although they can depend per location. Typically, the quiet hours are set between 22:00 and 7:00. This should guarantee a peaceful and quiet surrounding during the evening and morning hours when residents may be sleeping.

Are pets allowed?
At The Citylifer, we understand the importance of pets to our residents, and we may allow them on request. However, bringing pets is subject to certain guidelines , just to make sure that all residents experience a safe and comfortable living environment. Please contact our team to discuss the process in further detail.

Can I smoke or use drugs in the coliving space?
At The Citylifer, smoking and drug use are strictly prohibited within the coliving space. Violating this rule is considered a severe violation of the regulations
Safety and security

What measures are in place to ensure the safety and security of residents?
Safety is one of our key priorities. During the day, our buildings have an onsite management team. Furthermore, every building is equipped with a secure access system, ensuring that only residents and their guests are able to enter the apartment floors. Also there are 24/7 surveillance cameras throughout the building to identify security concerns. In case of an emergency, there are emergency response protocols and fire safety measurements. These measurements are in place to provide a secure living environment for our residents.

What happens in case of an emergency?
For emergencies related to the building or facilities, you can contact the onsite management team or reach out via The Citylifer app. If an evacuation is necessary, please follow the established evacuation protocols that are described on every floor of the building. For life-threatening emergencies, dial the local emergency service number (112 in The Netherlands).

Every building is equipped with a secure access system, ensuring that only residents and their guests are able to enter the apartment floors.

Yes, every The Citylifer unit is equipped with fire safety measurements, such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and emergency lights. The equipment is inspected and maintained regularly to ensure its functionality.
Move-in and move-out

What is the process for moving in?
The process of moving into The Citylifer is easy and straightforward. First, you check the availability on the Find your home page. Here you can book a viewing or apply directly. After approval, you receive the tenancy agreement that you can sign digitally. You make the first payment before you check-in. On the day of the move-in, our onsite management team welcomes you to your new apartments and provide a tour of the building and introduce you to your new neighbours!

What do I need to do to move out?
The move-out process is easy. Please notify The Citylifer team that you intend to leave. Our team will schedule a move-out inspection and settle any outstanding balance. Lastly, you return your key(s) to the team and you are free to go!

What items should I bring with me when moving into The Citylifer?
The Citylifer provides fully furnished apartments, even bedding, pillows and towels are included in our service. So basically you only need to bring your personal items such as clothes, toiletries and your favorite decorations and pictures.

How should I leave the room or common areas when moving out?
Long story short, we expect you to return the apartment and community areas in the same condition it was rented to you. So make sure you clean the apartment and remove all items that do not belong to The Citylifer.

What is coliving?
Coliving is a living concept where residents share a residential building with private apartments supplemented with communal areas. Typically coliving operators offer a high service level and foster a sense of community. Read our blog post for an introduction to coliving.

Can I have guests stay over?
Guests are generally welcome to stay over. However, we ask everyone to respect the rules and regulations to make sure residents feel comfortable and at home in our buildings.

The Citylifer offers both short-term and long-term leases to accommodate your needs. So regardless if you are looking for a temporary place to call home or a more permanent stay, feel free to join The Citylifer!

Is there an age requirement?
The Citylifer does not have a strict age requirement. However, our concept is designed to cater to the unique needs of young professionals. As a result, we exclusively rent to young professionals and do not offer accommodations for families. Individual buildings may have distinct rules and regulations in place.

Miscellaneous

Can I decorate my apartment or the common areas?
You are more than welcome to personalize your apartment and make it feel like home. We expect that this is done within the constraints of your rental agreement and that you return the apartment in the same condition it was rented to you. This means that permanent alterations to the apartment are not allowed.
As for common areas, these spaces are shared among your fellow residents. Decorations and alterations are discussed with the onsite management team and the other residents, to make sure everyone feels comfortable.

Is there storage space available for residents?
The apartments are thoughtfully designed to include ample storage within the living space itself. If you require extra space, every building has additional storage facilities. Please contact our team for more information.

How do I report maintenance or repair issues?
Should you encounter a repair issue in your apartment or the common areas, please reach out to the onsite management team. For your convenience, you can report the issue through different communication channels such as The Citylifer app, Whatsapp, email or phone.

Can I have a car while living at The Citylifer?
At the Citylifer, we actively encourage residents to consider alternative transportation options, as our locations are strategically situated near various facilities and public transportation hubs. If you really need a car, please contact our team to learn more about the specific parking options and any associated costs at your chosen building.
